  1. The Sympathy compilation was actually released in , not ( was the year it got issued on CD), on the Charisma Perspective label. Charisma Perspective was simply the label's compilation division, who had a habit of only covering two albums. And Rare Bird was no exception/5(22).

  4. May 26,  · Progressive rock band. Formed in London, England in late Rare Bird was originally formed around the principle of keyboard dominated progressive rock, shunning the use of guitars. Their eponymous debut album achieved critical success. Releasing five albums in total, they never achieved commercial success.

  5. Feb 28,  · Plus Steve Gould on bass and vocals and Mark Ashton on drums. This is the original lineup that only lasted two albums (they continued on Polydor with guitars). The album managed a European hit single with "Sympathy". It was enough for Marillion to do a cover of it many years later. But of course, there's much more to this album than that!/5(52).

  6. This is in regards to the first nine tracks on this cd which are from their first album and the same problems surface with this single cd. Whoever mastered it for this two-for-one cd appears to have not even bothered to look at the original track listing. I am sitting here with the Rare Bird lp/5(34).

In December , this eponymous debut album was released to great critical acclaim, (also becoming a US Billboard chart hit) and was followed in January by the release of "Sympathy" B&W "Devil's High Concern". The single reached the UK Top 30 and was a subsequent major hit throughout Europe/5(34).
